How the Vroom Drag Meet is operated

Vroom Motorsports owns the event brand, on-ground production and start-line. Race operations are delivered as a managed service by RRS — the same operations stack used to run the FMSCI INDRC national championship at the same venue. The split is intentional: a dedicated operations layer keeps registrations, scrutineering, results, ticketing and FMSCI documentation consistent across an open meet and a national championship that share the same calendar weekend.

  1. 1. Pre-event — registration, licence verification, scrutineering booking

Online entry by class (Stock, Modified, EV, Women in Motorsports), FMSCI licence capture and verification, vehicle declaration, indemnity, scrutineering slot booking, payment and receipts.

  2. 2. Race day — paddock, scrutineering, parc fermé

Tablet-based scrutineering checklists, paddock and garage allocation, parc fermé control, marshal logs and incident records — every step timestamped and audit-ready.

  3. 3. Racing — results management & championship points

The organizer-contracted, FMSCI-validated official timing team supplies raw timing data. RRS ingests it, validates, brackets, publishes results live and feeds the championship points engine.

  4. 4. Audience — ticketing, POS, stall bookings

Direct online + on-spot ticketing, on-ground POS for food/merchandise, pre-event exhibition stall bookings, vendor payouts and daily settlement reports.

  5. 5. Post-event — FMSCI reports & competitor records

Auto-generated FMSCI documentation (entry list, results, stewards' decisions), unified competitor records across editions, full reconciliation handed to the organizer in 48 hours.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Vroom Drag Meet?+

Vroom Drag Meet is the largest FMSCI-approved open drag racing event in India, organized annually by Vroom Motorsports at Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd in Hosur (Tamil Nadu, near Bengaluru) on a dedicated 2.3 km drag strip. The 13th edition was held in December 2025. Rehz Racing Software (RRS) has been the operations platform for every edition since 2016.

Where is the Vroom Drag Meet held?+

Every Vroom Drag Meet edition is held at the Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd drag strip in Hosur, Tamil Nadu — about 40 km from central Bengaluru. The same venue hosts every round of the FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship 4-Wheeler (INDRC).

Is the Vroom Drag Meet FMSCI-sanctioned?+

Yes. The Vroom Drag Meet runs under an FMSCI Sanctioning Permit as an FMSCI-approved open drag racing event. It is not a national championship round on its own — INDRC 4W is the national championship — but it follows FMSCI drag-racing regulations: licence-holder participation, scrutineering, parc fermé, official timing, stewards' panel, and post-event reporting to the federation.

What classes run at the Vroom Drag Meet?+

Both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers race over the standard 1/4-mile (402 m) drag strip. Categories include stock and modified classes, the Electric Vehicle (EV) class introduced in 2022 (now grown ~6× in three years), and the Women in Motorsports (WIM) category for both 2W and 4W — Vroom Drag Meet is the FMSCI-approved drag racing event with the highest women participation in the country.

How is the Vroom Drag Meet operated?+

Vroom Motorsports has handed over end-to-end race operations to Rehz Racing Software (RRS) as a managed service. RRS owns registrations, FMSCI licence verification, scrutineering, paddock and parc fermé, results management (the official timing team contracted by the organizers and validated by the FMSCI per championship regulations supplies the raw timing data; RRS ingests, validates, brackets and publishes the results, and feeds them into the championship points engine), audience ticketing, on-ground POS and stall bookings. The organizer's team retains the start-line flag-off and race control communications. Speedway Motorsports, Hyderabad handles FMSCI federation liaison using documentation generated by RRS.

What is the new India quarter-mile drag record?+

8.693 seconds — a new India national 1/4-mile record set on 13 December 2025 by Sean Rogers Pachigalla in a twin-turbo Audi R8 V10+ (1,600+ hp), at the Vroom Drag Meet 13th edition / INDRC finale at Taneja Aerospace, Hosur. The previous mark was 8.84 seconds, set by the same driver and car at INDRC Rounds 1 & 2 in April 2025 at the same venue.

Does RRS have its own timing system?+

Yes. Rehz Racing Software (RRS) has its own timing system purpose-built for Drag Racing and Autocross formats. It is available for organizers to rent on a per-event or per-day basis. On the Vroom Drag Meet and FMSCI INDRC, however, the timing hardware is operated by the official timing team that the organizers have contracted independently — selected by the organizers and validated by the FMSCI per championship regulations — RRS ingests their raw timing data, validates it, publishes results and feeds the championship points engine. Organizers running other events can rent the RRS timing system directly; contact us for pricing and availability.
