FMSCI License Guide 2026

Everything an Indian motorsport competitor needs to know about getting and renewing an FMSCI license — categories, fees, online application, medical requirements, and how one-event licenses work at FMSCI-sanctioned events.

What is an FMSCI license?

The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) is the national governing body for motorsport in India, recognized by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) for four-wheel and FIM for two-wheel disciplines. An FMSCI license is the official authorization that permits you to compete in any FMSCI-sanctioned event — drag racing, karting, autocross, hill climb, rally, TSD, time attack, or circuit racing.

License categories

• Competitor (Driver) — for individuals competing in four-wheel motorsport events.
• Co-driver / Navigator — for rally co-drivers and TSD navigators.
• Karting (Junior / Senior) — age-graded categories for kart racing.
• Two-wheeler Competitor — for motorcycle road racing, drag, supercross, and motocross.
• Entrant — for teams or individuals entering vehicles into events.
• Officials — Stewards, Clerks of the Course, Scrutineers, Timekeepers.
• One-Event License — issued at the venue for first-time competitors at supported events.

How to apply online

1. Visit the official FMSCI website at fmsci.co.in.
2. Create a competitor account using a valid email and mobile number.
3. Fill in the license application form for your category.
4. Upload required documents — passport-size photograph, age proof (PAN / Aadhaar / passport), address proof, and medical certificate where applicable.
5. Pay the prescribed license fee online.
6. Submit. Approval is typically issued within 5–10 working days, after which the digital license is available in your FMSCI account.

• Address proof
• Valid driving license (for four-wheel categories)
• Medical certificate (mandatory for senior and international categories)
• Parental consent (for Junior Karting and U-18 categories)

Age requirements

FMSCI sets minimum age limits per category. Karting Juniors typically start from age 8, four-wheel Competitor licenses from 18 (with a valid driving license), and certain professional categories require additional medical clearance after age 45. One-Event License at the venue

Most FMSCI-sanctioned events permit first-time competitors to purchase a One-Event License at scrutineering. At events powered by Rehz Racing Software — including the Vroom Drag Meet and INDRC rounds — this is captured digitally during on-ground registration: ID verification, medical self-declaration, indemnity, and license fee — all paperless, all auditable.

Renewal

FMSCI licenses are valid for the calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31). Renewals open in late November / early December for the upcoming year. Renew early to avoid event-day delays.
