Drag racing software for India — brackets, ET, championships.
The most battle-tested format in our stack. RRS powers the open Vroom Drag Meet and the FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship 4W (INDRC) — both held at Taneja Aerospace, Hosur. Drag racing in India is constrained by geometry: a quarter-mile run needs ~402 m of strip plus another ~650 m of shutdown for high-speed cars and bikes, which is why it runs at airfields, not on road circuits or kart tracks. The same RRS engine that runs the nationals also runs club drag days and one-off promoter meets.

Common questions
Do I need FMSCI sanctioning to run a drag racing event in India?+
Only if you want it to count toward a national / regional FMSCI championship or carry FIA-recognised results. Open meets, club drag days and one-off promoter events are routinely run as FMSCI-approved open events (with a Sanctioning Permit) — or fully unsanctioned at private venues. RRS runs both sanctioned and open formats on the same engine.
How does RRS handle bracket racing, ET handicap and reaction time?+
RRS supports heads-up and bracket formats, ET handicapping, automatic reaction-time capture, MPH, ET and 60ft splits, eliminations ladders and tree integration. Class definitions (Street, Modified, Open, Pro by displacement / modification) and championship points across rounds are all built in.
What timing systems does RRS support for drag racing?+
RRS has its own proprietary drag timing system available to rent per event. It also ingests raw data from third-party timing teams contracted by the organiser — the same setup we use on FMSCI INDRC and Vroom Drag Meet, where the official timing team supplies raw data and RRS validates, brackets, publishes results and runs championship points.
Venues
Some of the Indian motorsport venues where this format is run on RRS. See the full list on our locations page.
Dedicated drag strip on an active airfield with the ~1 km of straight needed for a quarter-mile run plus shutdown. Home of FMSCI INDRC (all 2025 rounds) and 13 editions of the Vroom Drag Meet.
Private airstrip historically used for The Valley Run drag events — one of the few non-Hosur sites in India with the airfield-class straight that drag racing physically requires.
