Do I need FMSCI sanctioning to run a hill climb event?+
FMSCI sanctioning is required if the hill climb is part of a national / regional championship. Local club hill climbs and one-off promoter events frequently run as FMSCI-approved open events with a Sanctioning Permit, or unsanctioned at private routes. RRS supports both.
How does RRS handle stage timing and safety windows on a closed road?+
Each car runs a single timed pass between start and finish beams. RRS enforces minimum safety windows between cars, tracks the location of every entrant on the stage, captures DNFs and stops, and applies penalties per the supplementary regulations. Marshal logs are timestamped and stewards-audit-ready.
What timing systems does RRS support for hill climbs?+
RRS works with beam-break timing at the start and finish of the stage, plus split timing at intermediate points where the route allows. Class brackets are computed live, with results published to the spectator app stage-by-stage.
